JUNIOR CHURCH 2:30 P.M. SERVICE
Dear Pastor and Church members,
By the grace of God through our Savior Jesus Christ, I am delighted to report to you that we have truly been blessed in the afternoon Junior Church program. Attendance has been steady with about 30 to 40 kids on average every Sunday, we have lovely music, and heartfelt, God praising singing, and discipline issues are under control.
I am honored and humbled that the good Lord has given me the conviction, opportunity and strength to continue to preach on pertinent, daily life topics to our Junior congregation, and specially make the main focus of my message that we can all look forward to a perfect eternal life with Jesus in spite of all the challenges we face as we journey through this temporary world.
Some challenges we had in 2017 actually worked together for the good of those who love the Lord in our Junior church; as I faced the challenge of not having enough available people that were able and willing to help in this ministry, I actually turned to the kids themselves to make them my helpers. Now I have some preacher boys that have become my assistant preachers, ushers and song leaders. The girls also help me as backup singers, organizers and personal assistants. Some of them even have steady jobs where they get paid $1 a week for helping to clean and pick up after services.
These things help to teach the kids about work ethics, servitude and Biblical gender roles in the church, while also making our Junior service their own through their involvement. It’s a Junior church for the kids and by the kids.
As usual, I have also tried to make our Junior church also fun and socially attractive to the kids. We had dunk tank and water games in the summer, a holiday meal in December, and I’m looking forward to organizing more fun activities in 2018.
Our motto is “Welcome to the greatest Junior church in the world. Where the excitement never ends, the teaching will set you straight, and the preaching will keep you awake!”
